WHERE ARE YOUR RATES GOING?

HAVE YOUR SAY ABOUT POKENO’S FUTURE!

Have you ever wondered how Council decides what gets built, what gets maintained, and where our rates are spent?

A big part of the answer is the Long Term Plan — the LTP.

WHAT IS THE LTP?

The Long Term Plan is Council’s 10-year roadmap. It sets out the projects, services, infrastructure and financial decisions that can affect our communities over the next decade.

WHAT DOES IT COVER?

The LTP includes things such as:

  • Roads & transport

  • Water services

  • Stormwater

  • Parks & recreation

  • Community facilities

  • Libraries & community services

  • Environmental protection

  • Emergency management

HOW IS IT PAID FOR?

Council’s plans are funded through a combination of:

  • Rates

  • Government subsidies

  • Development contributions

  • Other Council income

WHY SHOULD Pokeno CARE?

Because decisions made through the LTP can influence:

  • What happens in Pokeno

  • When projects happen

  • What gets funded

  • How much ratepayers contribute

The LTP is reviewed every three years, with the community given an opportunity to provide feedback on Council’s plans and priorities.

YOUR VOICE MATTERS

If you care about the future of Pokeno, it is worth understanding the Long Term Plan and taking part when Council asks for community feedback.

BE INFORMED. ASK QUESTIONS. HAVE YOUR SAY.
